PRESS REPORT OF THE XX ART WEEK OF CECINA The XX Art Week of Cecina, from 2nd to 8th August 2009, presented an impressing variety of events with 25 international exhibits at the Palazzo “Il Cremonese” and 8 international evening programmes AT THE “Campo Ippico”, sea lake promenade at Maderno, Lake of Garda.. Every evening from 21 to 24 hrs; entrance free. The title of this year was “20 Years Art Week, the Fall of the Walls – 20 Years later”. Various Nations participated with art exhibits, art performances, concerts, dance and theatre. Very interesting were the 4 documentary photo exhibits presenting the argument of the event.
The following nations participated in the event: Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Hungary, United States of America, European Commission, Mexico and Brazil. Juergen Bubendey, Consul General of Germany in Milan commented as follows: “ The Reunification of Europe could only become a fact because of the Fall of the Wall of Berlin and the Iron Curtain. Europe today is completely united from a political point of view. It is up to us now to become a real European Nation”. Nora Stehouwer-van Iersel , Consul General of the Netherlands, said: The festival ha been a great success with the Italian and foreign public, having hosted from 12.000 15.000 visitors. Press, TV, Radio and web have strongly supported the event in Italy and abroad..
