The Cecina Promotion is a cultural non profit association with a European image.At the moment there are about 220 members of which 70% Italians of the Lake of Garda diistrict and the surrounding cities like Brescia, Milan, Mantova, etc. and 30% foreigners; Germans, Austrians, Dutch en British. The Association is editor of the magazine'Parla Cecina' which publishes articles in Italian, English, German and French and reaches a well selected national and international public.
The most important event is the annual "Art Week of Cecina", always in the first week of August, this year in its 12th edition with 20 art exhibitions, conferences and art performances in the piazza as well as concerts , ballet and musical performances. The festival attracts thousands of visitors, Italians as well as foreign tourists. In 1997 the German consul general, Dr. Michael Engelhard held a conference about "Goethe and Palladio" and in 1999 a "European Week" was organized with the official visit of the consuls general of Austria, Germany and the Netherlands.
The Cecina Promotion maintains good contacts with the Italian authorities, the local industry as well as national and international organizations. Exchanging ideas and making contacts between the various regions of Italy as well as developing new links on an international level are encouraged by the different nationalities of the participating artists.
During the year art tours are organized as well as conferences and meetings about culture, history and international tourism with sensibility to the beautiful environment of the Lake of Garda. Cecina Promotion tries to interest authorities, population and visitors towards these topics.
